An IED (Innovative Electronic Designs) airport audio system system was installed. The system controls all the airport audio for: flight information, scheduled message playback, live paging, background music, local gate paging.
In 2008, ASCOM designed and installed Hearing Loop Systems for the hearing impaired in all concourses and gates. This makes GRR the first airport in the country to have such an install.
