In 2021, the LIFT Foundation purchased the former Knights Inn Motel on South Westnedge with the plan to repurpose it into a 60-unit studio apartment permanent housing community. The extensive property conversion is designed to provide for the basic needs of the resident, many of whom were previously homeless.
