Humbly concealed in downtown Grand Rapids’ Plaza Towers Building, overlooking the Grand River, sits the world headquarters of Wolverine Gas & Oil Co. This 12,157 square foot renovation models elaborate finishes that yield a cozy feel to its expansive space. Through five phases, Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. completely renovated this two-story space while maintaining full operation of the occupying staff. The enhancing features include an upgraded mechanical system, state-of-the-art computerized lighting controls, and magnetized walls which improve the occupational efficiencies of Wolverine’s personnel and a new grand staircase in the heart of the facility providing internal circulation between floors. Some of the finishes used in the space comprise of an exotic, sustainable species of African cherry flooring, glass transoms accentuating the high ceilings and providing daylight to internal offices, granite countertops complimenting the lacewood credenzas, art glass, stone flooring, decorative pilasters, specialty lighting, contoured wall framing, weaved leather wall coverings, and Makore trim throughout. With its extensive woodwork, this facility is a tribute to the exemplary craftsmanship that Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. carpenters brings to the trade.
