Just 3 months after the completion of last year’s ABC award winning clubhouse and pool facilities at StoneWater Country Club, Elzinga & Volkers broke ground on their new restaurant and banquet center in late August, 2009. Challenged with limited access and an unusually high ‘perched’ water table; construction began with the 4,500sf basement for cart storage. Framing began in late October and the building was completely closed in by late January. Final finishes including painting, carpentry and interior finishes began in February. Meticulous attention was given to every detail with natural wood and slate flooring, granite and concrete counters and custom carpentry throughout. Carpenters from Elzinga & Volkers spent over 300 man days installing custom beams, multi piece trim, tongue and grove walls and ceilings for details you won’t find anywhere else. At over 22,000sf, there is room for 170 in the dining room and 450 in the banquet center. Outdoors, they feature open and covered patio areas complete with fire place, 2 fire pits and a full service bar with a signature view of the 18th green, waterfall and grass covered bridge.
