This project’s key challenge centered around how Parkway would approach the use of Haworth’s corporate data network. Their video surveillance system had to include technology that allows video to be sent on the data network without risking the smallest compromise of security. Part of this challenge included taking their legacy analog hardware and making it work with a new IP (Internet Protocol) hardware/software platform. A smaller challenge, but one of real importance to Haworth was that security measures be discreet and highly effective. Most clients have similar requests and Parkway made the implementation of customized surveillance equipment that blends with interior design and overall architecture a standard offering. 44 pan/tilt and fixed cameras (28 IP and 16 analog) were used to monitor locations inside and out. Software was installed that lets the security staff administer the system from a central location, while allowing access from any computer on the network. Live video is streamed to the security office for 24x7 monitoring.
