Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Ballroom

Story

The Grand Cypress Ballroom addition is just that, Grand. Within it’s nearly 80,000 square feet lies pre-function area, food staging area and the grand ballrooms. The overall construction of the project included poured concrete tilt panels and steel.

The partitioned ballrooms are capable o fbeing utilized as one grand room or divided into twelve individual spaces. The design of the lighting in these areas allow flexibility in the control as well. The basis of the lighting in the meeting areas was linear recessed fixtures, supplemented by recessed can lights around the perimeter. The intricate Linear LED patterns provided the central focal point of the ballroom’s lighting. The grand Ballroom with all of its partitions opened up and unique lighting layout is the highlight of the project. With its high ceilings, multiple lighting schemes makes this room a wonderful site to see.

There were (12) large floor boxes in the ballroom area to allow for power, Data, and A/V requirements. Each floor box has numerous conduits to allow flexibility for the event’s needs.

A few obstacles that marked this project as a challenge included a very limited lay down area on the project site itself which required remote storage of materials and parking for personnel about a half mile from the project.  Achieving the completion of this project in the 12-month construction schedule, with the intricate and diverse lighting system, extensive electrical system and size of the scope for the project, made this project a feat of accomplishment in itself.
