Hagrid's Magical Motorbike Adventure

Story

When you enter Hagrid's Magical Motorbike Adventure you can see the work P&A Roofing and Sheet Metal produced adding to the magic with the ruins on the Hut getting you into the scenes of Harry Potter.  The roof has several different materials. Slate Roofing, multi-colored Sarnafil, Modified Bitumen and synthetic build up for the walls and Ruins tops . PCL Construction was awarded the project and P&A Roofing and Sheet Metal was awarded the roofing project. The project started 08/2018 and ended 01/2020. P&A Roofing and Sheet Metal portion of the contract was for $1,212,501.00. As you can see from the pictures uploaded the project was a lot of fun. I have uploaded in progress photo's so that you can see how we built the walls and edges of the roofs up so that the rider would not be able to see the mechanical's of the ride. Adding the slate and synthetic material so that it could be easily carved was challenging because of the vertical pitch.  This project required 2nd and 3rd shift crews to keep as little contact with park guest during this project. Product deliveries had to be staged to be brought in and inspections on the project occurred at night. With this being a roller coaster ride there were lots of challenges. Most of the mechanical and special effects needed to run through the roof. As a result there were a lot of opening and closing of the roof to ensure there would be no water intrusions. Once the job was complete the first riders were impressed! Helping to add to the Magic at Universal Studio's was very rewarding! Due to the challenges and end product I feel this project should be considered for the Subcontractor Award of Excellence.
