CREATIVE JOURNEY INSPIRATION SCHOOL

BC Construction Group’s (BCCG) design solution is based on its cost efficient, concrete tilt-up design. This solved problems with both schedule and the code requirements for a hurricane-resistant building. With a five-month schedule from foundations to completion, this 2 story, 41,700 square foot, 7.1 million dollar structure in St. Cloud was as organized as possible to assure the turn-over was complete and would allow the school bell to ring in August.Bright Future Electric pre-planned and prefabbed a majority of the in wall rough in and overhead lighting to minimize installation time in order to allow finishing trades to come to an efficient finish. The facility features 28 classrooms, a large multi-purpose room with attached food prep area, separate music, art, and media areas, along with a recycle center and a planned outdoor agriculture area. All of the lighting and control systems are LED and the lighting control allows low voltage features.

The furnishing and roomy classrooms provide the Reggio Emilia approach to education which allows the early childhood approach to reflect openness and responsiveness to new ideas – which is a curriculum that differs from the rigidity of public schools. This approach was to stimulate long-term in-depth research projects as the primary path to learning, which is one of the fundamental features of Reggio that inspires and sets it apart from conventional settings.
