Centerfor Advanced Healthcare Brownwood is a new state of the art medical arts buildinglocated in the Villages.  DPR Constructionwas the General Contractor for this project.

CoxFire Protection was awarded the fire protection scope of work for the project inAugust of 2018.  The project was originallyconceptualized as a core and shell building but as design progressed it becamea fully functional medical arts building. Our basic scope of work consisted of the design and construction of awet pipe sprinkler system.

Thefire sprinkler piping was prefabricated by Quality Fabrication & Supply andshipped to the project as a complete package. All sprinkler heads were providedby Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Company. Both of which are Central ABC members. 

Thesystem was then assembled on site by Cox Fire’s skilled technicians andadjusted to meet coordination and field requirements. In the office area, thepiping was installed concealed, above the ceiling with heads center of tile formaximal aesthetic appeal.

Separatezone controls were installed on each floor to allow easy maintenance ofsectioned off areas of without having to compromise security of the entirefacility by shutting down all fire protection at the same time. 

Thereis a pre-action system installed in the 1^st floor section of thebuilding which provides added protection for the I.T. room.

Dueto the size of the building a fire pump was required to be installed to supply thewater demand to the building systems.

Thisproject featured full BIM design and coordination between all MEP trades.  This was advantageous in that Cox FireProtection had multiple crews working on separate floors in different stages ofcompletion at one time. 

Thisproject was both demanding and rewarding as it was completely self-performed byCox Fire Protection.
