The $5.5 million project includes both renovations and additions to the school that was built in the 1950's. Highlights of the construction and design plans include: - New addition of three state-of-the-art classrooms to add capacity and support instruction. - New addition of a mixed-use music and performing arts room designed to function as a stage with a retractable wall that opens to the new community room/gym/cafeteria. - New all-in-one gym, cafeteria and community room designed as a mixed-use space with dividers and "zoned" access for community/neighborhood use after school hours. - Installation of energy efficient lighting and improved ventilation. - Addition/relocation of school office and health suite to the front entrance of the building designed to improve access and customer service. - New bus loop designed to improve safety and traffic flow by separating the bus drop off from parent drop off. - Renovation of the old gymnasium to a new mixed-use media center tripling floor space and combining the library and computer labs. - Updated wiring designed to incorporate new state-of-the-art technology.
