Story

The National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA, is comprised of over 800 members including colleges and universities, athletic conferences, and non-profit sports organizations affiliated with amateur athletics.  The NCAA National Office, in the effort to deliver news and information to its membership directory seamlessly and cost effectively, asked Sensory Technologies to integrate videoconference endpoints, videoconference bridging, firewall traversal, streaming and archiving capabilities and management software into the facility.

The videoconference bridge at the NCAA allows the association to connect with up to 48 different sites at one time. In addition, integrated videoconferencing rooms with large flat panel displays, cameras, and microphones built into the tables created intuitive meeting spaces.  The NCAA also invested in portable videoconferencing units to share with schools who had not yet set up their own videoconferencing capabilities at their particular location.

The headquarters is also equipped with a broadcast booth.  Among its many uses, the NCAA may utlize the technology to send out important updates to the members of the association.  Collaborative content can be streamed live or archived for future requirements.

Previously, Sensory Technologies worked with the NCAA Hall of Champions Museum, a venue attracting tens of thousands of visitors annually, with a 144 monitor video wall in a 360º wrap around theater.   From impressive exhibition spaces to complex integrated videoconferencing, the audio visual technology at the NCAA National Office and the Hall of Champions achieves its goal of connecting the association with its audience.
