Driesenga & Associates, Inc. (D&A) was involved in all aspects of the site design ranging from conceptual site layout to the final grading, drainage, and utility service for the new facility. The project required working with the Township, County Road and Drain Commissions for all necessary approvals. The project was a LEED certified project, and D&A was involved in designing the site to LEED requirements and supplying proper documentation to secure the Gold LEED certification. D&A also provided surveying services including topographic survey and construction layout and staking, as well as geotechnical investigation and construction material testing. The Herman Miller MarketPlace is a 95,000 square foot corporate office facility near the Herman Miller main site headquarters in Zeeland, Michigan. The leased building was developed as a “build to suit” and was designed with input from Herman Miller employees as an open, airy, and people-focused structure with consideration for future expansion. It incorporates a number of environmentally sound “green” principles, and is known as a "must-see" destination for customers, dealers, and others visiting Herman Miller in West Michigan.
