This project consisted of the new construction of a 35,000 square foot, all-inclusive fire station, located on the corner of Wilson and Prairie in Grandville, Michigan. The fire station was designed to meet both current and future needs of the growing city. The building is used to store and service fire-fighting vehicles and equipment, and includes sleeping quarters, kitchen, laundry, locker rooms and a training room for firefighters. The administrative wing has offices for the chief, deputy chief, and squad superintendent, conference rooms and library. Driesenga & Associates, Inc. performed construction materials testing of soil, concrete, masonry, precast, and steel during construction. Driesenga & Associates, Inc. worked closely with DVK Construction to ensure the project was constructed according to plans, specifications, and building code.
