Story

New Village Park is a complex live renovation of an affordable housing apartment complex. The facility is comprised of many buildings that total 152 one- to five-bedroom units with a wide variety of different floor plans. Wolverine Building Group demolished and re-built two of the existing buildings, and performed major interior and exterior renovations to the rest.

The upgrades are designed to improve efficiency, sustainability, and to meet current standards for disability accomodations, as well as to modernize facility’s overall look and decor.

The renovations were completed in phases, with residents relocated for short periods of time while each building was remodeled. Careful scheduling was required in order to minimize disruption to residents and management staff.

The project is supported by HUD and MSHDA tax credits, and is slated for LEED for Homes certification.
