Story

This new, state-of-the art health and fitness center is located on a 10.6 acre site at the corner of Burton Street and East Paris Avenue in Grand Rapids.

The MVP Sportsplex is a 2-story building with a glass and masonry exterior and a large, barrel-vault curved roof over a 40-foot high glass wall. It is a hybrid building with conventional steel, pre-cast concrete and pre-engineered building systems. With nearly 100,000 square feet of space, it offers a variety of fitness activities from aerobics and weightlifting to basketball and swimming.

There are two 75’ long gymnasiums, three studio rooms for programs, a fitness floor with more than 300 pieces of equipment, locker room facilities, and two indoor pools. The first pool is an Olympic-sized, 25 meter pool with five lanes and the other is a 6 lane, 25 yard competitive lap pool.

Also, connected to the facility, is a tennis barn with six indoor tennis courts. It consists of 45,000 square feet and was constructed using pre-engineered steel. Additional spaces in the building include a snack bar, gift shop, a sauna and steam room, private massage treatment rooms and lounge areas.

Wolverine Building has also constructed a stand alone, 2-story medical office building adjacent to the MVP Sportsplex. It houses medical practices and offices complimentary to the athletic facility with a focus on sports medicine.
