Story

Fryling Construction completed the historic restoration of Michigan State University Marshall-Adams Hall. Located on the southeast intersection of East and West Circle Drive on MSU’s East Lansing campus, the Marshall-Adams Hall houses the University’s Department of Economics.

Restoring the building to its original 1902 condition included repairing the brick exterior and completing extensive interior upgrades, such as new mechanical and electrical systems, a new elevator, and a data communication bank.

We worked with Lord, Aeck & Sargent Architecture to preserve the historic character of the 17,400 square foot building, while making it functional for modern use. Historic elements specific to the building’s original Romanesque style, includes a hipped roof with cross gables as well as a cavernous arched entrance, stamped tin ceiling, and detailed interior trim and glass work.
