Wolverine Building Group completed this adaptive re-use renovation that transformed the former Bethel Pentecostal Church into a 37-unit affordable apartment building.

The renovation retained the main façade of the 1920’s-era church, including the exterior brickwork and columns of the original building, and added a contemporary-style two-story addition on top of the existing 1967 addition for a total of four stories.

The 51,000 square foot residential building is located in the East Hills neighborhood of Grand Rapids, providing residents with easy access to local parks, schools, retail stores, and restaurants. The project is Enterprise Green certified.
