Story

Designed by Trinity Design of Farmington Hills, The new Saint Mary's addition will have two stories and approximately 90,000 square feet of space. It will have space for 20 primary care physicians along with 8 to 10 specialists and a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center with four operating rooms to handle ear, nose and throat surgeries, hand surgeries, orthopedic procedures and other general surgeries.

It will also include a Diagnostic center featuring the latest imaging services, a complete lab, and an urgent care center. It will also include imaging (X-ray) services, a clinical laboratory, complementary health services, an urgent care center, a pharmacy, an outpatient surgery center, and additional support space.

The building was designed to maximize efficiency and convenience for the users, while minimizing the impact on the environment. There were also many sustainable techniques considered and decided on for the project as Saint Mary’s plans to seek LEED certification for the building.

According to project manager Mark Bradburn, “some of the ‘green’ features of building include a large clerestory to disperse natural light and underground storage tanks that will be used to collect rain runoff for later use on the lawn’s irrigation system.”
