Story

The Metro Cancer & Hematology Center is a cancer care facility which is constructed at the Metro Health Village.  The 21,500 sq ft outpatient center will be housed in the southeast corner of the Metro Health Village on Byron Center Avenue.

Metro Health cancer patients will be able to meet with doctors and undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment close to the hospital. The facility offers 11 exam rooms, 9 private infusion rooms and a 10-patient common infusion area.  Equipment vaults are planned for a linear accelerator and future Brachytherapy as well as a CT scan room. Adjacent to the treatment spaces will be an outdoor healing garden.

The cancer center will also house support groups, visiting consultations and offices for medical staff and osteopathic medical oncologists. The building is to be LEED  Certified upon completion.
