This renovation project focused on transforming a two-story, solid brick building built in 1959 into an efficient, environmentally-friendly building. The result was a LEED Silver Certified Core and Shell building that resulted in a considerable amount of waste generated being reduced with lower operating costs for the building tenants.  Features include:

 

  • 82 percent of waste generated during construction recycled -- equal to 63 tons of waste diverted from landfills
  • 10 percent reduction in energy use versus code standards
  • 23 percent of new building materials were recycled
  • 30 percent reduction in water use versus standard fixtures
  • 30 percent increase in ventilation resulting in higher air quality
