Story

The mission of Binder Park Zoo, located in Battle Creek, Michigan, is that visitors will understand, conserve, and empathize with nature, and have a quality outdoor recreation experience. In keeping with this mission, a spectacular Binda Conservation Carousel was created.

The carousel is a delight to people of all ages with lights, music, and motion. One can see a menagerie of 36 elegantly hand-carved and vibrantly painted animals of different species.

Triangle, along with the Binder Park Zoo team, constructed a 50 foot by 100 foot carousel building located along the Avenue of Flags. The building has large glass doors and is climate controlled for use in any weather. Surrounding the carousel are themed murals, colorful crests, warm glowing wooden floors, brass fixtures, bright lights, merriment music and accessory trims - all meticulously woven together to create a stunning whirl of animals. Special carousel parties can be arranged inside this pavilion along with a small snack bar and plenty of room for fun.

The artisans of The Carousel Works creatively designed thirty-six animals and two wheelchair accessible chariots specifically for Binder Park Zoo. There are three rings of animals including those representing endangered species such as the snow leopard and the cheetah.
