BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEM ENGINEERING

Swanson Rink provided modeling, simulations and design for the baggage handling system in Terminals 1 and 2, at Salt Lake City Airport. Design involved a new, fully automated, in-line EDS screening baggage handling system for 100% of outgoing checked baggage and redesign of existing baggage claim units. The fully automated system combined individual airline baggage systems for common screening based on the TSA-approved screening protocol.
