• conversion of part of a windowless, 1-million-square-foot facility and warehouse into the international “nerve center” for all learning and training throughout the corporation • a wide variety of rich learning environments were created, all based on classic community and urban planning principles • 65,000 square feet - nine classrooms, 10 breakout areas, a Discovery Learning Space for informal, individual, selfdirected, and self-paced learning functions, as well as a media center • an installation lab for Steelcase product installer training; a Distance Learning Studio which is the focus of all learning technology, and a cafe which provides food service and informal space, including plug and play stations • AIA Grand Valley Honor Award - Building Design • Grand Rapids, MI
