* 2007 BIA Summit Award Best Public Works Project * 2007 Florida Department of Transportation Outstanding Airport Project Three Phase Project: • Phase1- Convert Taxiway A to a temporary runway to include widening, lighting, signage and drainage improvements • Phase 2 - Rehabilitate existing Runway 6-24 to include complete milling, repaving and new centerline lighting • Phase 3 - Convert Taxiway A back to a taxiway with revised lighting and signage. Add a newglide scope indicator to Runway 6/24 • First time in the US that a taxiway/runway conversion has been accomplished at a single runway, medium hub airport • Runway completed 45 days ahead of schedule • Taxiway completed 60 days ahead of schedule
