School of Missionary Aviation Technology

Ionia, Michigan

Story

This 18,000 sf pre-engineered metal building houses a school that provides mission-driven students with FAA-certified training in aircraft maintenance and flight. The building contains administrative and teaching faculty offices, classrooms, and hands-on workshops. A large hangar-type overhead door allows aircraft access to the hangar area for assembly/disassembly of the aircraft, its engine, and all associated parts. Welding stations, a metal shop, and ample storage areas are provided adjacent to the hangar area. Omega Architects chose a simple, clean design for the building's exterior. Omega Architects also provided all site design services. The rendering below was used for fundraising for this non-profit organization.
