Maggie's Kitchen

Story

Maggie's is a popular Mexican restaurant that features cafeteria style, order at the grille, pay at the register, pick up your food, seat yourself, clear your table, come again tomorrow type of experience. The owner desired to enfold all of the existing endearing qualities into a new freestanding building to be built across the intersection on property adjacent to their family-owned Mexican grocery store. The initial design called for a drive-up window, outdoor seating and total seating capacity nearly twice that of the original location. The freestanding building design was deemed too costly. The owner then commissioned Omega Architects to provide a second building designed adjacent to the grocery store directly at the street corner, the interior floor plan was completely reworked, outside seating was eliminated and a new combined entry was developed to service the restaurant and the grocery.
