Story

Motorola known for re-branding in the global marketplace is following their advertising with their own progressive new business model, "Workplace Mobility," that incorporates a branded office environment where the medium is the message.  There is no doubt that Motorola’s brand is reinforced with advertising and billboards, and now it is a part of their corporate culture.  Motorola's first 24/7 “mobile office” environment is called mobilezone.chicago. The space is designed to accommodate over 200 people a time, which is a 38% increase in capacity over the traditional office layout.  Unlike any other Motorola office, it is the first office space with completely un-assigned offices, workspaces, and conferencing facilities for use by the global Motorola workforce to land for an hour, day or longer to work and conduct business within a VOIP wireless environment.  Motorola’s objective is to grow its business without increasing its real estate requirements.  The new “Workplace Mobility” program demonstrated in this project supports Motorola’s employees by giving them the right tools, support and workspace to work, collaborate and communicate.  For those in Chicago the deliberate transparency of the space is expressed in the magnificent views of the skyline, mobilezone and the real estate strategy behind it will be expanding to skylines throughout Motorola worldwide.
