Sheraton Lansing Hotel

Lansing, Michigan

Architectural

Story

Approaching its fifteenth year of operations, the Sheraton Lansing Hotel embarked on an aggressive renovation in the mid-1990’s. MAYOTTEgroup Architects, in association with Condominium and Commercial Interiors, was selected to provide the leadership and vision for the complete transformation of the Hotel’s public spaces. The scope of the effort encompassed the dramatic five-story atrium, lobbies and pre-function areas, banquet and meeting rooms, dining outlets and kitchen. Throughout the public space, the recurring theme of rich dark and light stained maple woodwork gave the Sheraton a new look of sophistication and elegance. The centerpiece of this transformation was Christie’s Bistro, the highly regarded restaurant operated by the Sheraton. Originally isolated, designed as an isolated element within the hotel, the new design completely reversed this approach by orienting the restaurant towards the hotels lobbies and public areas.
