Freightliner of Grand Rapids is a 35-year old organization managing the sales of new and used trucks, service, parts and glider kits for the commercial trucking industry.  Freightliner maintains an inventory of over 100 trucks between its Grand Rapids and Mattawan dealerships.  

The parking lot for Freightliner of Grand Rapids suffered significant and on-going river bank erosion. Exxel Engineering and Freightliner partnered with Kent Companies to design and develop the most effective and economical method to stop the river bank erosion.   Kent’s team reviewed and evaluated the cost of different retaining wall constructions in order to determine the best value for the customer. 

A final recommendation was made to implement a design including steel sheeting with geo fabric and stone rip rap.  Kent secured required permits and completed the construction of the wall within two days, putting a stop to Freightliner’s erosion problems.
