Kent Companies was hired to installed 1” minimum thickness of 3,500 psi Maxxon Dura-Cap ™ underlayment over 9/16” corrugated metal decking at this student housing project located in Bowling Green, Ohio.  Kent’s process provides a hard, smooth surface for the installation of new finished floor goods and is also an integral part of the floor/ceiling sound and fire rating design.  Light-gage metal deck construction utilizing Kent’s lightweight underlayments on projects such as this is cost effective when compared to standard metal deck construction with structural concrete topping.  Due to the relatively light loads imposed by Kent’s underlayments, structural framing and heavy foundation costs are dramatically reduced.
