From the first tilt-back opera chair to modern sports entertainment, you'll find American Seating's solutions in many of our country's most impressive venues.  American Seating has been a leader in seating for education, entertainment, sports, transporation and office environments since 1886. 

As American Seating consolidated their Grand Rapids operations into a centralized operations center, their turn of the century building was transformed into residential apartments and office space. The stylish urban apartments are located a few blocks west of Grand Valley State's downtown campus, and they offer easy access to downtown Grand Rapids.

Kent Companies helped transform the historic building into contemporary living and office space.  Kent installed 60,000 square feet of Acousti-Mat II and 1 ½” of Level-Right floor topping in the apartments for sound control. 

Kent Companies also installed 50,000 square feet of ¾” Gypcrete 2000 to help flatten the old wood floors in the office area.  The modern underlayments systems provide durability, safety and sound control, helping to revitalize a historic space for a new generation.
