Detroit Design Group :: Northville, Michigan

Architectural

Story

This adaptive reuse investigates workflow enhancement and programmatic delineation through simple architectural forms with the intention of achieving the maximum for the minimum. Appropriately, minimalist, Scandinavian design became the architectural inspiration for this North American office of a Netherlands based industrial design/manufacturing company. A woven set of interventions, minimal in form but rich in texture set within the shell of a nondescript office/industrial building. The solution allows for a variable porosity between spaces as needed or desired. Sequence and program are articulated through the formal insertions that relate more to circulation and the relationship of spaces than their own pure autonomy.
