All kids, all the time. That’s both the beauty and the mission of the new Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Feyen Zylstra helped equip this high-tech healthcare facility with phones, computers (LAN/Network), elevators, mechanical systems, closed circuit TVs (CCTVs), audio/video systems, nurse call systems, patient observation, patient monitoring, telemetry, security cameras, security access control systems, paging/speakers, wireless access points, and a public wireless network. Fiber optic cabling was installed to connect 32 unique communications closets within the hospital and with adjacent facilities. The number of systems that required installation, coupled with the normal challenges of working in a multi-story building, made the project a perfect fit for Feyen Zylstra’s “Power of Knowledge” approach.
