Indianapolis Zoo Dolphin Pavilion and Meerkat Exhibit

Indianapolis, Indiana

Electrical-Contractor

Story

The Indianapolis Zoo remodeled two of its main buildings during 2005-2006, the Dolphin Pavilion and Deserts Building. The Dolphin Pavilion renovation created a one-of-a-kind experience with a 30 foot diameter acrylic domed underwater room in the main performance pool and a redesigned performance area designed to look like a coastal wharf town. ERMCO, Inc. provided lighting and controls, show lighting, shade control, fire alarm system and general power for this project.
The Zoo's old Deserts Building underwent a complete interior redesign turning it into the new Meerkats Exhibit. The 80 ft. diameter transparent dome was transformed with the construction of a new holding area, an exhibit space with a glass wall containment system, new ramp and walkway designs, and new artificial rock construction. ERMCO, Inc. provided demolition, lighting, and miscellaneous electrical device installation for this project.
