Hoosier Park Casino

Anderson, Indiana

Electrical-Contractor

Story

This construction project transformed Indiana's first pari-mutuel horse racing track into a "racino". The new 92,696 square foot casino will house over 2000 slot machines. In addition, the existing grandstand and clubhouse buildings were completely renovated, adding national chain restaurants, and potentially, accommodations for live entertainment.

ERMCO performed all the site work on the project including putting up 100 new pole lights and bases was extremely challenging with the less than desirable weather conditions. ERMCO also did work inside the casino including installation of all the underground conduits for the casino and installing 14,000 feet of under floor duct with 7,000 inserts. There are over 1,200 can lights installed as well.

ERMCO was also responsible for the voice/data and the fire alarm systems for the project with 1,000 new voice and data cabling drop locations having been added to the casino and grandstands. In addition, ERMCO has upgraded the low voltage infrastructure to re-establish the current standards. All new copper and fiber backbone cables were run from the main computer room to feed all the smaller computer rooms in the grandstands. To keep everything up and running, (2) one-megawatt generators were installed.

In spite of the weather, long working hours, maintaining a 24/7 operation and being pushed to work fast but safe, everyone involved with this project showed the stamina it takes to finish the job professionally and on time.
