Grand Haven, Michigan

Story

Hunter’s Woods is a unique residential development offering single family homes, attached condominiums, and townhomes in a setting of preserved trees and natural grasses. The grounds incorporate a diverse range of plantings to ensure that color and visual interest is available throughout the property. Plantings are kept green in part by an irrigation system that recycles storm water from the retention ponds. Landscape and Irrigation packages were provided for both Phase I and II of this new community starting with conceptual design through construction documentation and bidding. In addition to the plans prepared for the entry and common areas, typical plans were prepared for each unit taking into account sun exposure and providing visual interest for every season. Colorful bulbs, perennials, and deciduous shrubs bloom from spring through summer. As fall approaches the leaves begin to change followed the textures and color provided by the stands of ornamental grasses and berries set against evergreens and the fallen snow in the winter. Work performed by Corey Broersma, RLA while employed by RJM Design, Inc.
