Enterprise Industrial Park

Mendon, Michigan

Civil-Engineering

Story

Village of Mendon sought to expand its commercial and industrial areas through the construction of a new Industrial Park. The site chosen for this improvement lies at the western limits of the Village along Michigan State Highway M-60. The site is roughly seventy-two (72) acres in size and has immediate access to existing public utility infrastructures. Approximately 2300 feet of public road system with curb and gutter and storm sewer was constructed through the property to act as a vehicular link between M-60 and Avery road. Intersection improvements included the reconstruction of Avery Drive at its existing terminus and expansion of M-60 at the proposed street location to meet MDOT requirements. Driveway improvements were provided to secure vehicular access to the existing Dell’s Automotive development. Along with the road improvements, the Village’s existing sanitary sewer and water main systems were extended through the development for future connections, including 3,000 feet of water main, 220 feet of sanitary sewer, and a 24” Bore and Jack under M-60. Storm water management for the roadway was provided through independent leaching basins within the property. Driesenga & Associates, Inc. provided construction engineering services, utility inspections, as-built survey, construction staking and construction materials testing.
