Cumberland Avenue

Vergennes Township, Michigan

Civil-Engineering

Story

A new 1400-feet public gravel roadway extension constructed in the fall of 2005 and spring of 2006 on a section line within Kent County Road Commission right-of-way south of McPherson Street in Vergennes Township, Michigan. Driesenga & Associates, Inc. completed boundary and topographic survey, geotechnical engineering and soils investigation, civil engineering design and agency approval, construction staking and as-built survey and drawings. Civil engineering design and agency approval included coordination with the Kent County Road Commission to design the horizontal and vertical alignment in accordance with their standards and requirements. Following the approval and construction of Cumberland Avenue, D&A completed additional survey work in order to update the drawings with the appropriate as-built information prior to submittal and final approval of the public roadway.
