Story

Britton Falls is a 913 acre residential community in the town of Fishers, Indiana. This 1,055-lot residential development provides a setting that overlooks 47 acres of lakes and nearly 42 acres of undisturbed woodland. In addition to the trees saved, the development provides over 8,200 new trees along its streets and pedestrian linked open spaces that incorporate over 10 miles of walking trails. The cornerstone of the development is Britton Falls, an age restricted community by Del Webb. The designs take advantage of the lakes and incorporate plantings, masonry walls, and stone cascades to create unique vistas. A 26,000 square foot, $6.5 million dollar Recreation Center with indoor and outdoor pools, bocce’ courts and tennis courts were also included amenities within this development. Driesenga & Associates, Inc. (D&A) provided assistance during zoning and annexation, developed Master Landscape Plans and detailed Engineering Plans for the various communities within project. D&A coordinated development of concept plans through construction approvals in accordance with Town of Fishers and Hamilton County standards. The project included over 9 miles of public road, sanitary sewer, and water main, relocation of 1.33 miles of the A.J. Meyers Legal Drain, a grand boulevard entrance and widening and improvements to Cyntheanne Road and 126th. Approvals and permits were obtained from the Town of Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern Utilities, IDEM, IDNR, and the Hamilton County Surveyors office. A HEC-RAS Study of the drain was undertaken to determine floodway limits, and facilitate IDNR Construction in a Flood way and Army Corp of Engineers permitting. In addition, D&A completed the topographic survey for the entire site, prepared plat documents, and provided construction staking and construction materials testing services.
