Story

Design Plus provided design and implementation services for this new 8,500 SF conference center on Hope College’s campus. The facility was designed to accommodate a variety of functions ranging from student activities to meetings and conferences by outside organizations, and includes a 350-seat auditorium, dining facility, smaller meeting room, and kitchen. The project was completed in 1986 with an estimated construction cost of $575,000, with many of the actual construction funds being donated. The facility earned several awards including the 1987 Associated Builder & Contractor Award, 1987 Grand Valley AIA Distinguished Building Award, the 1988 “M” Award from AIA Michigan, and the 1989 Masonry Design Award.
