Design Plus provided complete architectural and engineering services for two separate additions to the existing Mackinac Hall on Grand Valley’s Allendale Campus. The first addition was 39,000 SF (24,000 assignable net SF) and included classrooms, computer labs, and faculty offices. The addition was completed in 1998 with a total construction cost of approximately $6,068,700. Design Plus provided complete architectural, engineering, and site services for a second, two-story classroom/office addition of 55,460 gross SF (36,500 net assignable SF), which included renovation and refinishing of the existing construction (approximately 82,500 SF) at the addition connection, and all related site modifications to accommodate the new construction. The project was completed in May 2002 with a total construction cost, under budget, of $5,130,035.
