Design Plus provided full architectural, interior design, site/landscape, mechanical, electrical services, PUD approval assistance, and capital campaign exhibits for this 14,000 SF renovation and addition to house the Grand Rapids Gilda’s Club cancer patient and family support center. The project involved the demolition of an existing barn that was duplicated as new construction adjacent to an existing home. Located on a 7-acre site, the clubhouse includes a community room with fieldstone fireplace, game room, dining room, Noogieland, gathering areas, kitchen, and an arts and crafts room. The project was completed in December 2000 with a total construction cost of approximately $1,150,000. Design Plus also provided architectural and landscape/site analysis for expansion of the existing parking lot from 22 spaces to 43 spaces. Design Plus is proud to have contributed in-kind donations for this 2001 Associated Builders & Contractors Award winning project.
