Design Plus provided conceptual design through construction documentation services for several components of this Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth camp for inner city boys and girls in Grand Rapids, including a new 1,720 SF Camp Director’s residence including registration office for incoming campers, a new 4,028 SF recreational facility including a climbing gym, basketball court, maintenance equipment storage, as well as a renovation to the existing 2,820 SF dining hall which included a new roof, remodeled kitchen, and new flooring. A 522 SF addition to the existing dining hall was designed and documented; however, due to funding issues, the addition is not being constructed at this time. Design Plus provided recommendations for use of existing open space as football and soccer fields. We also provided perspective and elevation renderings, and prepared presentation materials for use in fundraising. The project opened in June 2007.
