This project was donated to Stearns County Parks Department, and was the largest donation ever to Stearns County. Dale Gruber Construction, Inc. constructed the building to house the derrick equipment that runs the wooden derrick, which may be the only operating wooden derrick in the region.
Remodeling of the existing building consisted of demolition of the entire interior of the sales floor and office area amounting to 4120 square feet. New walls were built to accommodate the sales floor, office area, restrooms, and café.
The addition consisted of a 500 square foot 2 story steel structure with showroom glass, including the installation of a vehicle hoist to hoist vehicles up 12 feet high into the glass jewel box for display. LED lighting was then added to the interior and exterior for a unique design and atmosphere during the nighttime hours.
