Gravity Taphouse Grille

Forest Hills, MI

Story

This was a major transformation of an existing chain restaurant into a high-energy taphouse. It included a complete interior and exterior renovation along with a 1,900 SF patio. A four season room was added with garage doors that lead to the concrete patio with three fire elements, landscaping, and lighting to accentuate the texture.

The restaurant features unique styling, complementing Gravity’s eclectic menu and selection of over 60 craft beers on tap. We used wood, copper and carefully placed lighting to add warmth to all the spaces. Our goal was to create an environment that makes people feel comfortable and gives them a unique dining experience. The start of design to completion of construction was accomplished in 5 months. The walls, their texture, the subtle differences in table height – from the bar to the main dining space to the furthest tables – and the carefully constructed patio, hide the fact that Gravity sits along a main road and busy highway and creates a special kind of ambiance. Layers of the space at Gravity create different opportunities for people, dependent on mood and feel.
