Eagle Creek Golf Club House

Orlando, Florida

Architectural

Story

When golfers wrap up a long day at Eagle Creek Golf Course, they find a haven for rejuvenating body, mind and appetite within its European-style golf club house.Set on the naturally flat expanse of Orlando, the golf club house has an elevated front entry, creating an impressive experience upon arrival.

While the overarching theme of the house is European, other elements deftly weave in a New England ambience. Within the lobby, intricate, custom-designed wood moulding graces the high ceilings of this formal space, which is defined by its dark-stained natural wood elements; granite pieces and marble floors also lend to its intelligent expressions.

Contributing to the versatility and aesthetically pleasing aspects of this facility, conference rooms, showering facilities and a full-service pro shop are available to golfers and local residents alike. Rather than housing the more than 90 golf carts outside the main building in a stand-alone facility, they are conveniently kept within the structure next to the pro shop.

Another defining element of this golf club house is its two-story integrated rotunda: The first floor houses the pro shop, and the second offers a serene locale for fine dining. Not only does the restaurant provide 180-degree views of the lake and triumphant golfers as they approach the 18th hole, but the bar’s Dakota red granite top has an interesting story of its own—it was salvaged from the former Orlando City Hall building before it was imploded to make space for the new one.

As a testament to its remarkable design and appealing ambience, elements of the golf club house have trickled into surrounding neighborhoods and retail developments. Streetscapes, pavered streets, stone elements and tile roofs bring architectural harmony to the Eagle Creek community and all reflect back to the notable designs of its appealing golf club house.
