Acoustical-Design
Acoustics By Design was brought in by Progressive A&E to perform acoustical site evaluations and recommendations for the newly remodeled, LEED Certified, Burton Elementary and Middle School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our final report included specifications for interior room noise isolation and architectural acoustical features for the auditorium, lobby, music areas, gymnasium, and media center that would improve speech intelligibility and environmental quality. The project received an Institutional Renovation Award from Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.
Burton Schools are currently renovating the existing three-story, 190,000 square foot facility. Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. originally built the historic building in 1926 and is the Construction Manager for the $24,000,000 project.
